Thoughts from the mind of the mysterious narrator otherwise
known as "The Pen"...
George and Joel grew up in
Jamaica Queens, NYC, and began dabbling in
music after hearing and being inspired by The Hollies' "Long Cool Woman in a
Black Dress". They were influenced by national groups like Kiss, Angel, Ted
Nugent, The Babys, The Ramones, NY Dolls and Starz, and local club talents
Twisted Sister, The Brats, Swift Kick and Samantha. Fusing these influences
with a love for an honest, high energy stage performance, they formed the
rock group Toys in 1977, which blossomed into tri-state super-group Vixen in
1979, for which they are still remembered as inspirational cornerstones.
George and Joel have been in many successful musical enterprises since then,
but both agree that nothing can touch the magical time they had together,
paired forever as the long-haired, rockstarish glam/ new age frontmen of
Vixen. Come relive the excitement of the '80s at one of their shows!
Okay friends and foes alike! gather 'round for tales of monumental proportions! The
Brothers Vixen want to wholeheartedly thank you all (Females personally, and alone, or in
small groups, if you please.) for showing up at their gigs recently and they want to
extend a very thankful and sweaty hand to all of you, inviting you one and all and each
and every to come on down and rock at their swingin' soiree's from here on out Check the
calendar, cause there's wildness continuing at a bra, err, umm, BAR (Sorry Freudian slip
there, hehehe.) near you! Rock on true believer! And thanks again for joining our 24 hour
