E mail us your favorite story and we'll publish it on the web !!

 1) No favorite story per se... I'm from Queens, NY - worked at L'amour East for years, and have kept in contact with a lot of common friends (Ray Garcia,     Bruno Ravel, Petey Zepina, Joe Guacci, etc)

I was talking to Ray the other day, and he mentioned the reunion show.  As a guitar player, I have a bunch of picks that I just keep around in case I pick up a guitar... For some reason, your pick was just sitting there, along with another Tara one...

Weird...

Keep on rockin'!!!  I miss the Island

It was the Vixen's first anniversary. We wanted to do something nice for the guys so we went to the local drug store and picked out 5 pair of sunglasses. We tried to convince the guy behind the counter we should have them for free because we were buying them for a very famous rock band. He didn't fall for it. We just smiled real pretty and said thanks anyway. I think he gave us a small discount. That night we gave the band the sunglasses. I think you all really appreciated them even though George kept saying it wasn't his anniversary because he wasn't married to anyone.

If you look on the George and Joel website and click on photo album, the last picture on the bottom right corner of George and Joel then, you are wearing a pair of those sunglasses.

See you in a couple of weeks,

Rockin' Mary

Back in the early 80's a gig at Stonybrook. I believe it was called Spring Fling or something. Anyway my girlfriend at the time was on the activities committee that handled the gigs. What a blast that party was hanging with all those girls and free beer!!!

Ahhhh if we could only go back.

Back in the late 80's in the Parallel Daze, we had just been picked up by Omni-Pop and as their Newest Act they had sent us out to 'prove ourselves" at this Bar named Candias' somewhere in Queens!
Joey Angel, Chris, Alli, Me & MICKEY!
Roughest Crowd we had ever seen! Meaner looking then Bikers! Louder then Punk Rockers! Rowdier then Rodeo Riders! We were terrified! Ralph & I were really having a tough time, 'Working the crowd" when, along came in Joel Frixx from Vixen!
YEAH! Someone who actually speaks English!!!
With that Joel jumped up on Stage, grabbed a Mic in one hand, an Axe in the other & together we all Ripped through the rest of our set, totally Rockin' the place out!
20 Years later now & if we ever have to Play in a place like that again, well you know is going to be tagging along!
Thanks Joel for saving the day!

So I'm in Secaucus, on my way to my last job, and dj Marc Coppola is on the radio, Q104.3 classic rock station, 9:57pm, and it goes something like this: "today's rock birthdays... scott gorham of Thin Lizzy, and {female name unknown, who cares anyway}, lead singer of Vixen... you know, that's not Joel Frix's Vixen, the Vixen that I and some of the djs loved from LI.... Legend has it that Joel Frix managed the girls in that band... man, the Vixen we knew from LI rocked".  Have a great day everyone, it's nice to be remembered.

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away.  After a show, leaning on a friend's car, shooting the breeze.  Many strange noises coming from the car. I look at you, you look at me (with that devilish look in your eye)...you quickly open the car door and 2 of our dear friends come rolling out to to the ground.  We laughed for a good 5 minutes.  Ahh the good old days.

Talk to ya soon,

Yes I remember that time well !

Dear Joel,

I have so many great stories of nights spent with my friends and Tara.  I can't send you just one.  I've never forgotten those times.  It's hard to believe it was twenty plus years ago.  Sometimes life goes crazy and we find ourselves day dreaming about times when life was very fun and simple.  When I day dream I think about the times spent with the girls following Tara...lol.  You guys were great.  The best thing about Tara was that you all made yourselves accessible to us.  You'd always join the crowd.  It was great.  I can't believe I found this website.  I'm so happy to hear you're still playing music, Joel.  I don't know if you answer your emails, but if so, I'd love to hear more about what has happened in your life.  What happened in the past twenty years?...lol.  Did you get married, have kids, etc, etc...?
What ever happened to Gary, Dave, Jerry, and Arian?  It would be great to hear from you.  Be well.

With Very Fond Memories,
Cecelia

Thanks, Cecelia

Those times were the best. Things were a whole lot less complicated back then. And what a ride it was !!!

Luv ya.

No story, just appreciation.

I stumbled upon this web site a few days ago and a smile instantly arrived upon my face.

I believe it was Wednesday nights at Cheers in Deer Park. I remember watching you guys on stage thinking these guys kick ass. There was no better time for Long Island music. Thanks for the great music, good times and all the memories that have been coming back to me.

Pete

Thanks for the kind words Pete. We always had a blast at CHEERS on Wednesdays. We loved doing what we did. And those days truly were the best !!!

Keep the memories  !!
Keep Rockin'  !!
